I am Pamela.

I recently joined the Board as a Director at A Positive Start due to our shared passion about early intervention to support children’s emotional health and well-being. I too am passionate about trauma informed practice and teaching co regulation and preventing escalation of need. I have a nursing diploma and am keen to share my experiences and give tools/strategies to help others.

I have 20 years nursing experience and 12 years school staff nursing background along with my recent role in leading a nurturing room in school offering And setting up children and families 1:1, group work. Working closely with parents, members of education, CAMHS, social work and community learning development, My early intervention work includes some essential camhs like triple p, connecting with parents motivations, trauma informed practice, LIAM, sleep scotland, zones of regulation, uk nurture trained, seasons for growth, building childrens social skills like self esteem, conflict resolutions , keep your cool in school, decider skills, friendships, and am currently working through APS trauma informed trust and enquiring about therapy dog training, the roots of empathy and family group discussion. My main aim is to educated others on trauma, co regulation and bridge the gap between services to get it right for every child at a early level to avoid escalation of need. ◦
