Cecile Nunez
We are delighted to welcome Cecile Nuñez, also known artistically as Ava Mikael, to the A Positive Start CIC family as a director.
A textile artist, storyteller, and 20-year student of Rudolf Steiner Anthroposophy, Cecile weaves together her Filipino heritage and love for European fairy tales to create deeply meaningful works that foster emotional healing and spiritual growth.
Her expertise in art therapy and story-life counselling is a beautiful fit with our trauma-informed, person-centred approach.
With over a decade of experience working within indigenous and Steiner school communities, Cecile has spent years crafting natural fibre dolls and puppets, using storytelling and handmade art to soothe, regulate and gently transform. Now based in the UK, she continues this work by blending Southeast Asian influences with British textiles – such as tweed and cashmere – into soulful sculptural pieces that invite, self-discovery, calm and connection. Cecile’s unique lens brings a rich and intuitive depth to our vision, and we are thrilled to collaborate with her as we continue expanding our creative and healing pathways at A Positive Start CIC.
