GAP (Junior) – Global Ambassador Programme
Growing confidence, emotional awareness, and leadership from the inside out
GAP (Junior) is a structured emotional wellbeing and leadership programme designed to support young people in developing confidence, self-understanding, and positive connection with others.
Through a combination of guided group learning, discussion, structured worksheets, movement, music, and reflective activities, participants are supported to grow in awareness of their strengths, understand their responses to stress, and develop the confidence to contribute positively within their communities.
The programme begins with classroom-based emotional awareness and regulation learning, before gradually introducing opportunities for participation, peer support, and leadership development as confidence grows.
The programme is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and designed to help young people feel a sense of belonging, identity, and purpose.

A Step-by-Step Development Pathway
GAP (Junior) follows a recognised staged pathway that supports young people as they gradually build:
• emotional awareness
• confidence and regulation skills
• communication and boundary understanding
• teamwork and peer support skills
• leadership confidence
As participants progress, they are recognised for their commitment and development and may move toward becoming Junior Ambassadors within their community setting.

A Prevention-Focused Approach
GAP (Junior) is designed as an early-intervention pathway, supporting emotional understanding before difficulties become overwhelming.
It helps young people strengthen resilience, build safe connections, and develop skills that support both wellbeing and participation in school and community life.
Delivered in Partnership
GAP (Junior) is delivered in collaboration with schools, youth organisations, and community partners as part of A Positive Start CIC’s commitment to strengthening trauma-informed futures across communities.
Programmes can be adapted to suit local settings and partnership needs.
