Trauma Informed, Person-Centred,

Compassionate, Self-Leadership Program....

SELF-DISCOVERY FOR RECOVERY

Self-Discovery for Recovery is a Communities Mental Health & Wellbeing funded project supporting and guiding people on a compassionate, self-led journey of recovery, helping individuals to recognise how trauma impacts our nervous systems, health, relationships and daily lives.
A Person-Centred, Mind-Body approach to emotional healing, developed with lived experience insight, the project helps people to discover new coping strategies for self regulation and to holistically manage symptoms of trauma.
We cannot prevent trauma, suffering is part of the human condition, however we can learn to recognise, understand and manage the symptoms.

Trauma can impact our nervous systems, triggering survival mode.
We do not consider survival mode to be a disorder, as it is a natural response to threat experienced by all mammals.
Our role is to help you to understand what is happening to you and why, and to support you to find effective ways of managing the symptoms.

Holistic

The project supports a range of holistic therapies including, Trauma Counselling, Emotional Freedom Technique, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Timeline Therapy, Neuro-linguistic Programming, Hypnotherapy, Creative Arts Therapy, EMIT Therapy, Qigong Health and more...

If you are a therapist offering alternative therapies, we would love to hear from you.

e-Workbooks

Over the course of the 12 month program,  there are 6 interactive e-Workbooks for participants to complete, guided and supported by a trained Lived Experience Practitioner. Each book offers printable exercises & resources and are worked through sequentially. Created with lived experienced insight, the books are designed for ease of use, and are intended to be enjoyable, thought-provoking & engaging.

RAPPORT©

Self Discovery or Self Awareness as it is, follows a process called RAPPORT©.

The meaning of the word rapport is to create 'a close and harmonious relationship in which the people can understand each other's feelings or ideas and communicate well' .

We use the acronym RAPPORT, to create a 'close and harmonious relationship with self... understanding self, thoughts, feelings and behaviours....

R - Recognition, A - Acceptance, P -Process, P -Practice,  O - Observation, R - Reflection, T - Transformation.

During the program you are encouraged to work through the books at your own pace, supported the appointed LEP. You can choose to have as much or as little support as you need. Each e-workbook is represented by a single-coloured jigsaw piece, titles include:
Triggers, , Behaviours. ANTs (Automatic Negative Thoughts). Language & Communication, Boundaries, Safety & Reconnection.

You can dip in and out of the workbooks, using the many resources as much or as little as you like.. this is journey - you decide what does and what does not work for you...
