Person-Centred Counselling
Life often thrusts us into challenging situations without warning, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, unprepared, and unsure of how to cope.
Sometimes, the cause is clear, such as the loss of a loved one, relationship difficulties, illness, job-related stress, or intense public scrutiny. Other times, the reasons may be less apparent, or it may seem as though a multitude of minor issues are piling up simultaneously.
Over the last few years particularly, many of us have faced significant uncertainty about health, employment, education, and the hardship of extended isolation from family and friends.
Such distressing events can impact our nervous system, leading to feelings of stress, anxiety, panic, restlessness, or a sense of being overwhelmed. We may not fully understand what’s happening within us, which can exacerbate stress and fear. In these instances, seeking professional help can be beneficial in understanding our experiences.
Studies have consistently shown that counselling can effectively improve our circumstances.
Therapeutic Sessions
Our sessions are a collaborative effort, involving meeting, talking, and listening with the shared goal of addressing your concerns and gaining a deeper understanding of your unique circumstances. This journey thrives in a secure and reliable setting. Each session lasts 60 minutes and can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly to best suit your needs.
During these sessions, we proceed with care and respect, ensuring your privacy, self-governance, and independence, as well as your right and capacity to make personal choices. The therapeutic relationship provides a safe space to explore your physical and emotional experiences, thoughts, actions, and the contexts in which they occur.
